For everyone who already applied or are about to apply for this year’s Camp. No one can predict what is going to happen in next couple of months, at the moment all events in July are still on, to include Junior Handling Summer Camp! We are accepting and booking places as usual.
In an unfortunate event of cancellation - all paid DEPOSITS will be refunded IN FULL. Same applies in the case of banned travel and any other enforced measure that will prevent ones from attending.
Ms. Katja Rauhut & Mr. Richard Hellman
Katja Rauhut works as a professional handler, trainer and groomer for dogs and people. She has been self-employed since 2011 and took over sole representation for PLUSH PUPPY Germany.
Together with her mother, Sabine Rauhut, she successfully breed Tibetan Terriers and Lhasa Apsos under the kennel names "Ti La Shu" and "TigerPaw".
One of her biggest successes so far is Germany's Top Dog Awards 2016 and 2009. This gave her the opportunity and the honor to represent Germany at the Eukanuba World Challenge in Long Beach, USA in 2009 and Crufts, UK in 2017. Furthermore, she has led several dogs of different breeds to multiple World Champions, FCI European champions and Crufts victories.
As a child Katja was an enthusiastic junior handler. She won the German Junior Handling Final in 2002 and 2003. With these victories she had the great honor to represent Germany at Crufts in 2003 and 2004. In 2005, Katja became the first German junior handler to represent Monaco at Crufts, where she won Runner Up International Junior Handler Crufts 2005. Katja's junior handling carreer stopped in 2005 when she reached 18 years , but she enjoys passing on her knowledge to both the new generation of junior handling and the old show hands and / or newcomers to the show.
As a professional handler she was very honoured to judge some important Junior Handling competitions at international Dog Shows as well as the World Dog Show and other prestigious well known Dog Shows in Europe, like World Dog Show in Milan 2015, Helsinki Winner 2014, 4 Summer Night Shows in Split 2013, Malmo 2009 and Canberra 2007, to mention a few.
Richard Hellman was born in New York in 1961 and since 1972 he has been attending dog shows. He moved to Italy in 1981 for studies and decided to stay there forever. Specializing in Nordic breeds and the Schnauzers, he has nevertheless presented nearly 200 dog breeds since he chose to become a Professional Handler in 1986.
Richard had extensive experience first in the world of obedience, schutzhunde and research with Pastore Tedeschi, Rottweiler, and Dobermann, professionally surpassing some thirty work patents before devoting himself exclusively to beauty dogs. He worked in veterinary clinics, shelters for abandoned dogs, grooming rooms and training centers when he was a boy. All this has allowed him to understand the psychology of dogs well even in stressful situations.
In his career he has presented thousands of subjects on 4 continents, winning almost 200 World and European titles, more than 200 BEST in Shows, and certainly more than a thousand national championships.
He has successfully bred the Akita Inu and Australian Shepherds with the NO SHATSUKO affix, earning almost 40 world and European titles with these two breeds bred by him, or his property, or in any case in his management. He has been doing stages and seminars for 20 years, in various countries, and is the protagonist of a DVD: "Handling according to Richard Hellman".
